摘 要:Hydrogen has been hailed as a promising alternative and renewable energy source that may replace fossil fuels in the future. Toward this end, one effective approach to hydrogen production is electrochemical water splitting. In these studies, advanced catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) are generally needed to reduce the overpotential and increase the catalytic current density. In this presentation we will review some recent progress in the design, preparation and engineering of heteroatom-doped porous carbons as effective HER electrocatalysts, which exhibit a performance that is comparable to, or even better than, that of commercial Pt catalysts.
