主讲人人简介: Prof. Thomas Kühn is the Professor in the Functional Analysis Group of the Mathematical Institute at the University of Leipzig, Germany. His PhD and my Habilitation I received from Friedrich-Schiller University Jena in 1980, respectively in 1986. He worked in the group of Professor Albrecht Pietsch in Jena till 1990. Then he changed to Leipzig. – His main research interests are Functional Analysis, Operator Theory, Approximation Theory, and Probability on Banach spaces (Gaussian measures and processes).

报告简介: The talk will give an overview on relevant (more or less basic) results on entropy and indicate some applications how entropy is used in analysis, probability (small deviation of Gaussian processes), and maybe learning theory.
